Charles Wong is the Founder and President of CarePros www.carepros.ca. Charles founded the business in 2017 when he recognized that there was a gap in quality home care for our most vulnerable populations in the Greater Edmonton Area. Now CarePros has been officially recognized and approved by the Government of Alberta as a Qualified Service Provider within Disability Services, providing 1,000,000+ hours of respite to hundreds of families with children and youth with disabilities, as well as supporting Children’s Services Child Intervention Group with complex group home care with a rapid growing team of 200+ and counting. With the support of Children's Services (CS) and Family Support for Children with Disabilities (FSCD), CarePros has become a leader in complex child and youth care in the Edmonton Region and is accredited by CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) International. CarePros offers an array of behavioural and medical services to children and youth including respite (In-Home, 24-Hr, and Out-of-Home Placements), Extraordinary Childcare, Community Support, Personal Care Support, Transitional Care and Behavioural Developmental Supports, and short and long-term placements in licensed group homes for children and youth under (CS). Charles’s vision is to extend CarePros services throughout Canada, and Alberta-wide expansion is underway in 2023 and beyond in order to provide these much-needed supports to many more families. At CarePros, Charles leads a culture of inclusivity to guide children and youth to achieve personal success by nurturing their physical, social, cultural, and emotional well-being. Through personal growth, meaningful relationships with the community, and connection with culture, the children and youth CarePros support will leave a positive impact on generations to come. Prior to establishing CarePros, Charles was with Restaurant Brands International, parent company of Tim Hortons Canada where he held management roles in Field Operations and Development. Charles was selected by the Senior Leadership Team and President of Tim Hortons Canada to lead the rollout and launch of the new Tim Hortons‘Welcome Image’, a $700MM nation-wide remodel across 400+ restaurants; this successfully executed project was recognized by the Board as a marquee 2018 initiative and achievement. Previously, Charles spent the last 10 years holding various management roles in an array of industries including Healthcare, Technology, Retail, Private Equity, and Quick Service Restaurant. Charles philanthropic work includes serving as a Entrepreneurial Representative at the University of Alberta's Threshold Impact Venture Mentoring Service (VMS) modelled after the highly successful VMS program at MIT working to develop, inspire and empower U of A alumni entrepreneurs by engaging them with teams of experienced mentors providing counsel to help VMS entrepreneurs better navigate through challenges.
