Gordon is the owner of Clanachan Enterprises, a consulting firm established in 1999 that provides business advisory and corporate governance services. A member of the Institute of Corporate Directors (2009), Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants (1983), Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland (1979 to 2015), and graduate of Glasgow University (1976), he served as President and CEO of RaiLink Ltd., a TSE listed public company and Canada’s largest regional railway from 1994 to 1999. Prior to his career with RaiLink, Gordon spent 15 years with Price Waterhouse in Canada and the United States, specializing in the areas of management consulting and financial audit. Gordon is Chair of the Board of Trustees of the Edmonton Pipe Industry Pension and Health and Welfare Plans and a former director and Chair of the Audit Committee of Melcor Developments Ltd. (May 2021). In addition, he is currently Chair of several private company Advisory Boards in a variety of industries.  He previously served on the University of Alberta Board of Governors as a Public Member, was Vice-Chair of the Board from 2009 to 2011, and Acting Chair from 2011 to 2012. He was also a director of Alberta Blue Cross from 2004 to 2013. Gordon was awarded the Fellow of Chartered Accountants (FCA) designation by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Alberta in 2009.
